ABOUT ANNA

1990: B Econ University of Stellenbosch
1992: BA (Hons) Psychology University of Pretoria
1994 – 1995: MA Psychology UNISA

As a psychologist I aim to help my clients process their experiences and how it effects their thoughts, emotions and spiritual health. My heart is to see people come unstuck from negative beliefs regarding themselves, others and God. Trauma can come to us in various forms: physical, sexual or emotional abuse, dysfunctional relationships, losses and the pressures of daily life.

Processing these traumas and challenges by ourselves are difficult. Our current culture also leaves many lonely and without the sufficient support they need.

I’d love to support you in your journey.

“Who am I?”
“Why am I here?”
“Am I expressing my potential?”
“How do I contribute to the lives of the people around me?”

Are these questions you tend to ask yourself?

Having completed Nico Liebenberg’s Life Course Training Program (coachingconnection.co.za), I’m now available for Life Coaching Sessions for adults.

The first appointment will entail a Life Coaching Needs Assessment Questionnaire to determine the focus of the recommended sessions to follow. These could include one or more personality tests, discussions regarding your personal life purpose and how you give expression to that, as well as the process of making significant life changes.

“Is your relationship riddled with complicated patterns of conflict, emotional distance or a sense of disconnection?”

The Imago Dialogue is designed to create a safe relational space for couples to decrease reactivity and increase connection.
By facilitating a dialogue, I help couples to mirror (reflect back words), validate each other (acknowledge the partner’s perspective), and empathise (stepping into the partner’s emotional experience).
This structured approach aims to remove shame, blame, and criticism from communication in order to create a safe emotional space.

The benefits of Imago Therapy:
  • Conflict resolution: Learn to use disagreements as tools for growth.
  • Reconnection
  • Understanding how our pasts influence our present relationships.

Applicable for married couples, dating partners, and individuals seeking stronger relationships.

As an artist I’m fascinated by color and searching for the details in faces and nature without being restricted by reality. My favorite medium to work with is oil paint because of the richness and intensity of color. I also have a special affinity for yellow and orange as it resembles joy and happiness. Apart from painting, I enjoy gardening, reading, travelling, and exploring different cultures.

MEDITATIVE ART WORKSHOPS

Combining my love for art, counselling, and group work, I’ve ventured out and developed various meditative art workshops. Groups meet weekly for 6 weeks, 2 hours at a time and normally consist of 3-5 participants. This allows the group to get to know one another and gives ample time to share for those who choose to. Participants are asked to adhere to confidentiality.
